In Afghanistan the US got an international coalition to go fight Al Quaida The ISIS war will start off supporting militias and air strikes then it will lead to a coalition ground force. Its to politically sensitive to call for a ground operation yet but Obama will be making lots of phones calls to foreign leaders try get a coalition together. Even with a coalition there is no viable ground operation because the war is taking place in 2 countries and one of thm is in the middle of a civil war. The coalition will have to either support Assad whose help they will need or continue supporting the rebel groups they like forcing them to also fight Assad In Iraq despite the fact they are US trained and armed the army is being defeated by ISIS so will there be a need for foreign ground troops if the army can't handle it?

He is 100% right. We need as many countries as possible on board when we take up arms against ISIL. As Saudi King Abdullah said, after the Middle East, ISIL will arrive in Europe and then in the USA. Hundreds of Western Muslims have joined ISIL and will 'come home' with a range of terrorist skills.
