Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.02.14)
When the going gets tough, the "tough" haul ass to Israel. We should close the border to United Nations observers and troops -- let them seek refuge in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq or Turkey. The United Nations is extremely disrespectful to Israel. Pathalogically so -- it's practically a U.N. cottage industry. So why should we do anything for them? Israel should deny entry to all United Nations personnel.
6. UN resolution creating UNDOF is clear - Israel may reoccupy
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (09.02.14)
Israel withdrew from the Golan territory east of Quneitra with the linked stipulation that UN troops would maintain a separation of forces zone. If UN does not uphold its end of the deal, Israel is legally entitled to re-occupy the Syrian territory it withdrew from. Same legality as when Nasser ordered UN troops out of Sinai that were put there in 1956 - Nassers action gave Israel a clear legal grounds to re-occupy Sinai - which it did in June 1967. If UN doesn't act to restore UNDOF force, the Golan east of Quneitra will soon belong to Israel. With Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra force there, Obama can hardly object to an Israeli invasion to boot them out. No diplomatic recognition of Israel by Assad - that part of the Golan should be annexed also.
