The French should mind their own business. Really, they should. The peace process -- to the extent there is one -- is up to Israel. Not to France. Israel is NOT required to give up land acquired in the course of fighting a defensive war. But if the French REALLY want to have an impact, why don't they simply restore Alsace and Lorraine to Germany? Or is it because ALSACE AND LORRAINE WERE ACQUIRED BY FRANCE IN THE COURSE OF FIGHTING A DEFENSIVE WAR AGAINST GERMANY? Gee, just like Israel's reacquisition of Judea and Samaria. France is a whore among the nations. They're in a mess because so many Jews are leaving, while so many Arabs are coming -- especially the Algerians and Moroccans and Tunisians. Strong ties to ISIS. One of the biggest problems with the West is its obsession of a two-state solution. This plan is dead. It's the definition of insanity, trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Also, there cannot be a durable peace accord with those who do not want such an arrangement (the "palestinians"). Further, any final agreement and solution to the conflict should be determined by the Israelis and Arabs, not the Security Council or foreign governments. Not only does it fly in the face of Israeli sovereignty, but the Israelis and the Arabs are the ones who have to live with the reality of any solution.

whatever obama and his european allies want, it is a fact that they cannot impose a unilateral solution to any sovereign state. even if they admit a virtual arab palestinian state into the un, the conflict will not be resolved. to the contrary, it will continue for many decades if not a hundred years. nor should it be forgotten that the us congress supports israel in near unanimity.
