"Israel" will do as it is told by the EU, US, and UN. It has been a thorn in the side of the international community for nearly 7 decades, and it has to be excised. Hopefully with the least military action necessary.

This is not the primary subject of the article, but I would like to note the shameful behavior of some of the leaders of the political factions, including Lieberman, in undermining Netanyahu's efforts by their statements to the media insinuating that the passage of the resolution is likely, etc. Netanyahu is fighting for Israel here, yet again-- you may think we should be more generous with the Palestinians, and that there is some kind of moral or tactical requirement to agree to everything they ask (I disagree wholeheartedly with both)-- but you cannot dispute that it is Israel that is being attacked here. Those of us who hope to maximize Israel's future, cannot give comfort to any attempt to minimize it, or to undercut our national prerogatives.
