2. The plan to divide Israel could apply to France
Rivka Lea   (01.17.15)
A great suggestion! I've always said that the EU (Europe) is even more a bigger threat to israel than Israel's neighbours! Vive la Israel ! Am Yisrael Chai. NEVER the 2-state-solution in Israel, it won't work! There is least of anti-Semitism in Finland in the whole Europe.
3. So 40% of France residents can't vote?
Ed ,   Canada   (01.17.15)
Or do you want to give Israeli citizenship to everybody between the river and the sea? If you do, then your arguments will make sense. Now they don't You conveniently forgot the fact that most Islamists and Muslims in France are citizens with voting rights. This minor fact happens to be called democracy. You're willing to give it up and have Israel as Jewsish and non-democratic - just say so clearly.

No, in Israel, the Jews are the indigenous people. Forced out, and now we have returned. It is the Arabs who are the intruders. Moreover -- do not the conventions and rules which govern warfare still apply? Do you see Poland being forced to create an autonomous East Prussia? An autonomous Polish Corridor? How about Croatia? Have they been forced to create an autonomous Istria, or did they simply negate it by kicking out over one million native Italians? Well -- Germany and Italy were the aggressors in the Second World War, weren't they? And they lost. There are consequences to that -- both territorial and in population transfers -- and those consequences have NEVER been negated, nor have they been declared illegal. See if you can convince the United States to restore Okinawa to the Japanese. Since 90% of Okinawa is now taken up by Fort Buckner -- sovereign United States soil -- I wish you luck with that one. World War II was just one war. Israel has had to combat six major wars of aggression commenced by the Arabs, and countless smaller ones. Do you seriously mean to suggest that the sovereign State of Israel should be the world's test crash dummy? Let's start with Poland, Croatia and Japan, first, shall we? Do you know that nearly 60 million people were forcibly resettled following the Second World War? Resettling 2.5 million Arabs is a mere drop in the bucket by comparison.
5. The solution for Europe against Islam extremism
tiki ,   belgium   (01.17.15)
Dividing the continent in Western Europe & Western Caliphate.
6. Ridiculous
Olivier ,   Paris   (01.17.15)
This paper badly informed is ridiculous. ZUS are areas defined according to socioeconomic (unemployment, poverty mainly) and violence variables. The ZUS may have a high level of migrants, but migrants remain diverse by their ethnic origins and religion. Roms, asians and an important part of the migrants from Africa are not muslims. Moreoever those areas never claimed any kind of autonomy or independence. Finally, in France, migrants children born in France become French citizens, a citizenship right that has always been denied to Palestinians in the West Bank & Gaza. Before dismissing the 2 States solution in Israël/Palestine with this spurious comparison, take really the risk of a true 1 State solution : one person = one vote.
7. France is not occupying stateless people
Harri ,   EU   (01.17.15)
You cant compare Israel to any nation in EU. Every Muslim in France has the full citizenship rights in France. That's why there will never be such broblems like in Israel. You are the slave masters of the Palestinians but you still try to act like victims. It makes everyone sick in Europe. You either take the land AND the Palestinians or you give Palestinians the West Bank. Everyone is sick of status quo. Palestinians will win ICC and UNSC very soon, if Israel don't stop playing games.

Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (01.17.15)
A very nice and good historical analysis made by you, dear Sarah. Germany, Japan and Italy had to pay the/a price for their criminal and barbaric war/agression during the second world-war. They may be glad to receive Marshall-aid, since 1945. Otherwise they were not able to recover and they would/were be destroyed totally, entirely, everywhere, forever and always. The Jewish/Israeli people also have the fullest right to their own national state, land, nation, country, entity, society and community, since 1948. For example also even the United Nations Organization recognize that. That category of ("islam") Arabs, which do not like/hate Israel, better can go to the rest of the Arab and "islam" world, or to the centre of the three oceans, to some uninhabited and artificial island/archipelago. Salute, Sjoerd Ruurd.

Israeli Jews, Arabs, Druze, Circassians, Armenians -- vote in Israel. West Bank Arabs are Jordanian citizens, and should demand a right to vote in Jordan. But Jordan's elections are few and far between, and there hasn't been an election for Arabs in Judea and Samaria for a very long time. Jordan extended citizenship to West Bank Arabs and their progeny IRREVOCABLY back in 1954. So citizenship is not the issue. Moreover, is it necessary for me to remind you that while Tunisia, Morocco, Mali and other now-independent countries were French colonies, Algeria was always a department of France. Algerians were BORN citizens of France, and they continue to claim it because of reckless French legislation following Algeria's independence. It's pretty pitiful that I have to teach you French history and French law, Olivier. By the way -- the concept of ZUS is a roundabout way of declaring apartheid, do you realize that? Caisse-toi, pauvre con!

Beary White ,   Norway   (01.17.15)
.. a relevant new map of a divided France, split in half with the Islamic cult in one part and the non-isalmic part in the other part of the map. I suggest the islamists want Paris as their capitol. I expect the islamists will start a rocket barrage just to conquer the rest of France, and if the Frenchmen ever try to defend themselves, they will be brought for the ICC, accused of killing Islamic terrorists, like members of hamas and fatah... Sadly Frenchmen, your god has left the building..you are doomed.. But someone has to produce a new map of a divided France.
13. two state solutions
Jackie Becker ,   NY, USA   (01.17.15)
All you have to do is look at Bengladesh which used to belong to India but was a Muslim majority that split off into its own country. You don' t need to imagine, you need to see the pattern.
14. #3, 6, 7. That's exactly why Mr. Bechor says France is worse
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.17.15)
Since Muslims have full citizenship with voting rights it is so much easier for them to move freely throughout the continent, commit terror acts, and take over France or other European countries through a "one vote, one time" Sharia style democratic process. This is much worse than Israel's condition.
15. no.
(01.17.15)
You are wrong. Arab Israelis enjoy full rights and equality, and actually receive more in certain benefits than other parts of the population. As for the Arabs in the disputed (not occupied) territories who are not Israeli citizens - their situation could have been resolved a long time ago, if only their leaders weren't so eager to annihilate Israel altogether while brainwashing their own people (just like Islamic leaders in Europe). Your response is naive. These people are openly calling for Europe's Islamization and you still believe they give a damn about "citizenship". They do not play by your rules. By the way, Muslims are completely free of any Israeli presence in Gaza for many years now, and yet for some reason they insist on firing some 15,000 rockets on Israeli civilians, digging terror tunnels, sending death squads, and calling openly to kill as many Jewish civilians as possible. Just to be clear, I'm in no way saying that all Muslims are evil or anything like that. The fact that many of them are respectful, law abiding citizens is just a complication of the problem.
16. Soon enough

Muslims will be the masters of Europe, but you just keep telling yourself that a citizenship is enough for them.

EU is the biggest threat to Israel!
20. #6 France has No-Go Zones

France has No-Go Zones. France is a very dangerous country that has violent extremists all over the country. Violent crimes are a huge problem for France!
21. wrong
samTLV ,   Israel   (01.18.15)
Algerians were not citizens of France. Get informed before writing this. Muslins algerians were 2nd-class people with no rights. Only Jewish Algerians (since Cremieux law in late 19th century) and Europeans colons were citizens of France. After the independence of Algeria, there was a special treatment for Algerians to get permit to work and stay in France. This exists still but has been somehow restricted.
22. apartheid, all the contrary
samTLV ,   Israel   (01.18.15)
ZUS is a statistical tool to select poor neighborhoods that need special help and funding from the government. If it is apartheid, it is against the zones that do no deserve this help. In France ,it is called territorial solidarity!

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.18.15)
Germany might credibly make the argument that France is occupying Alsace and Lorraine illegally. Germany can certainly make the argument that Poland illegally occupies East Prussia and the Polish Corridor. Heaven knows that Italy can make the claim that Croatia illegally occupies the Italian province of Istria. You cannot pluck geographical realities to suit yourself. Israel has done nothing but exercise the rule of law that governs following the defeat of an aggressor. China illegally occupies Tibet. Do you have anything to say about that? Why don't you just leave Israel, if you hate my country so much? No one actually sent for you, did they? No, of course not. So leave, and take your Arab boy-toy with you. Or are you the boy-toy of some Arab? Either way -- get lost. You contribute nothing, and you make a point of loudly trumpeting the fact that you are not Jewish. Please leave -- your presence pollutes my country, and you very definitely spend a great deal of time biting the hand that feeds you.
24. Insane
Daniel   (01.19.15)
I thought Bechor's latest piece where he made up bizarre "facts" to fit his story ("Luton is UK's third city") was a low point, but this is even worse. Does he really think the ZUS are "Muslim" zones?? The ZUS are somewhat poorer areas (exist in every country), and most of them has hardly any Muslim population at all.
25. NEVER GIVE UP AN INCH OF ISRAEL
Tom ,   USA   (01.20.15)
Why doesn't France, the UK, Germany and other European nations that are having an Arab/Islamic problem in their own countries give parts of their land to their Muslim inhabitants? Muslims in London, Paris and other European cities/capitals have openly stated their desire to take over European land and turn them into Islamic countries. These Europeans need to first resolve their issues before they stick their noses in other countries' affairs. The nation of Israel a recorded deed from the highest and best known authority, The Almighty Lord! Read the Jewish Bible, read the Christian Bible and read the Muslim Quran. They all state that The Lord gave the Land of Israel to the Jewish people as an eternal covenant. If you are a Jew, Christian or a Muslim and you don't accept The Lord's message on this matter, then you don't believe in The Almighty Lord.

solomon ,   bklyn   (01.24.15)
#3, #7 Wrong: 2 million of 3.5 to 5 million Muslims in France have citizenship- a large number but not “all”. And the “Palestinians’ are NOT citizens of Israel, do NOT live in Israel, and DO have their own governments. All Israeli arabs DO have citizenship in Israel. And what country wants to give citizenship to those who want to destroy it (except for France and the EU)? #11 A BS peddler if there ever was one. Split ignores all those times his question was answered with facts as he makes up his own ersatz “facts”. #17 what nonsense: What France is not doing, neither is Israel. Speak to Hamas and the PA about basic rights.
27. WHAT ABOUT NO-GO AREAS WITHIN ISRAEL'S 1967 BORDERS
Anthony Fallon ,   Manchester   (01.26.15)
The hilariously funny article in the Israeli press about the Barber from Rehovot who is making yarmulkas made almost entirely from human HAIR to export to the beleagued skullcap wearing Jews in Europe is relevant in this case. There are areas in the so-called (Halachic implied) Jewish state of Israel which are NO-GO areas for religious Jews...Um Al-Fahm (totally Muslim/Arab population) Nahariya, Akko, Haifa, Afula (large Muslim/Arab resident minorities) to name a few northern towns. I'm sure i read somewhere that there is a movement amongst Israeli Arabs for an AUTONOMOUS region in northern Israel in addition to a future Palestinian state.
