As a social worker working with people who are receiving invalidity benefits and get paid minimum wage I am well placed to comment on the housing and economic situation in Israel ! The situation is dire and totally incomprehensible ! People cannot afford housing ! The rents are high and wages and benefits very low ! Thus people are in debt and don't eat well as they are constantly trying to cut expenses! There is little public housing and people are unable to buy so just keep renting ! The rent subsidy of 770shekels is a joke and doesn't cover nearly enough of the monthly rent! The government has no policy and is not thinking in an imaginative way ! It's time for a change !
