1. In 5 years they will have built enough tunnels
Avi L.   (04.27.15)
In 5 years they will have built enough tunnels to reach Australia. They are buying time the way they always did, the way Iran did. And Bibi gives them the time to kill more of us the next time.
2. And they condemn Obama for appeasing Iran

3. Question
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.27.15)
"It will be no surprise if the next rocket from Gaza is launched by someone opposing the Israeli-Hamas dialogue. It might even be someone close to the PA." Whatever happened to Israel's long-standing policy that any missile or mortar fired from Gaza territory will be deemed to be the responsibility of Hamas? Shall we switch to holding the PA responsible, and start bombing Ramallah? I'm all for that, but please clarify the policy. By the way -- no one in their right mind would trust Hamas as far as they could throw them. How about before supplying Hamas with the means to destroy us, we demand that they renounce their goal of the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jews? Good luck with that one -- there isn't a single pseudo-"palestinian" organization anywhere who is prepared to step back from that truly unrealistic goal. There should be no negotiations with any pseudo-"palestinian" group that refuses to do so, nor any such group that refuses to recognize the absolute right of the Jewish people to live in their homeland. Without that, there will never be any peace because there is no basis for negotiations. No sane government will negotiate with terrorist scum bent upon our destruction and extermination. Time for the pseudo-"palestinians" to take the first step, and to prove that they are serious about peace. Otherwise, the merry-go-round remains in place until the Arabs grow tired of getting kicked to the curb by the sovereign State of Israel. I'd say it's all up to them. Not to Israel. When they come on bended knee to the State of Israel, beggar's bowl in hand, they had better be prepared to make quite a few concessions. Otherwise -- no dice.
4. it's possible, but...
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (04.27.15)
The enemy (Hamas) of my enemy (PLO-Fatah) - or vice versa - is my friend. It's always possible: we expect war with Hezbollah, so we want that the Gaza battlefront stays calm or neutral. I understand the Mossad,... we can later deal with the Hamas problem, but it's a risky choice. Hamas a terrorist arm of the Muslim Brotherhood put the annihilation of Israel, Jewry as their highest priority.
5. Hard to Believe
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (04.27.15)
With shootings of farmers and fishermen in Gaza, it is hard to believe that anything other than renewed heavy fighting will result. Maan reported 38 shootings across the Gaza border or at sea in March alone, with 6 wounded and one dead. If this is an example of negotiation, Israeli-style, no wonder that Obama is not impressed with Netanyahu's plans for negotiations with Iran.
6. You Should Never Make A Deal With The Devil

7. Question
Jez ,   Netanya   (04.27.15)
Much opinion little question - but no doubt dear Sarah you'll be safely in the USA with you and yours when the rockets are falling on those of us who live here permanently. Its a shame to coin a phrase that half timers dont put their 'toochas where there mouth is'
8. No surprise
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (04.27.15)
This is the reality of conflicts and cease-fires. Israel is no different from any other nation-statein this respect. What is interesting is that while there is cynicism regarding the actions of practically every other country such cynicism is suspended in the case of Israeli governments. A mix of naivite and wishful thinking.
9. it's a hudna
Nick Z ,   New York, NY   (04.27.15)
"proposal from Hamas for an agreement on a calm period of five to 10 years." -- it's called a hudna, a period of time not to exceed 10 years which allows jihadists to re-arm (while deceiving their opponents into thinking it's actually a truce) and then break the "truce" when they feel they can do real damage again.
10. Bibi and Hamas
Jez ,   Netanya   (04.27.15)
If the article is true and the two sides are working towards a Hudna it is a shame that Bibi didnt take Hamas's offer of a Hudna several years ago rather than lead thecountry through 2 wars since he became prime minister. Olmert also could have availed himself of a Hudna but too chose not too.
11. I think it is an oportunity to make Gaza the Singapore of ME
Alan ,   SA   (04.27.15)
as Arafat promised Rabin The whole of Israel could benefit from a vast underground tube/metro train network.
12. Audacity
(04.29.15)
Hamas and it's financials supporters have audacity to warm of 5-10 years truce. That's welcoming themselves to civilization. And after that they will think different whether they civilized enough or still brutal. Whatever the blessings of Israel will not add sorrow. Their blessings are nothing but fires that will reveal their wickedness.
13. hamas isreal peace talk
Anees ,   sharjah   (05.25.15)
-yes we need hamas- Israel Peace talks..we should achieve peace in Gaza for next 5000 years
