I think the most important reason was that swines eat the same category of food as man. Therefore the rich people who wanted to eat pork would have fed their swines vegetables, corn and fruits humans could eat, too. I read a book some years ago that tried to explain such cultural and religious sensitivities and it postulated that a few thousand years ago meat preparation and storage was atrocious in many parts of the world as you can well imagine (the Innu in northern Canada had natural refrigeration whereas in the Middle East salting your meat was the easiest option) and trichinosis was a real danger so religious leaders enacted a edict forbidding consumption of pork. He should of joined the US Marine Corp. He wouldn't have to bring food from home. The Aramaic-English New Testament is a translation from the only New Covenant books text that passes the ELS Scripture code tests for authenticity. Most New Covenant books say Gentiles don't have to be circumcised when circumcision is an everlasting commandment that will be done even in the Millenium reign of Yahshua the Jewish Messiah! The Apostle Paul (Shaul) circumcised Timothy before allowing him to accompany him and preach the gospel. But most Christians who are going to hell because they sing the song of the Lamb but not the song of Moses, say they don't have to be circumcised! Yahshua the Messiah said if people love Him they will obey the Commandments. Picking a different Sabbath and refusing to circumcise male babies is picking and choosing what to obey! Eating pork and shrimp and other unclean foods and regular meats dedicated to Allah which are called halal meats is forbidden for Gentiles and Jews who love the Messiah Yahshua! Wake up! You have been brainwashed to refuse to obey the everlasting laws of Moses (Song of Moses) and that will send you to hell! Read Revelation 15:3 and get a clue! Read Hebrews chapter 4 and get a clue!
