1. Predictably Ironic as...
JtC ,   Nir Eliyahu   (06.04.15)
Much of the technology in a cellular phone was developed or perfected in Israel... But hey, no one's ever accused the Frogs of having anything even resembling a backbone...
2. Money talks ,...
split ,   US   (06.04.15)
"and urged Jewish customers of Orange around the world to change carriers" ,... I bet that they already checked and compared the number of Jewish and Arab customers and made the decision based on what they will gain and what can lose outcome ,... By the way the French or any government can condemn a little guy on the street corner but not a communication giant like Orange ,...
3. #1 - Like what? Name some ,...
split ,   US   (06.04.15)
4. He's been asked to pay up or to leave
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!   (06.04.15)

5. Orange is not a nice color: it is time to pay the price
C   (06.04.15)
the israeli company should sue orange for a very hefty settlement. cobalt is a nice color: cobalt israel would be a nice brand.
6. It's a corporate world
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (06.04.15)
Backbones, morals and ethics are irrelevant, It is in the nature of international operating corporations to exploit and make money. If the Arab/Muslim customer can get you more money than the Israeli customer by exploiting the Israeli/Arab conflict, so be it. As the famous quote goes "nothing personal, just busness". Others will follow suit. Brave new world. Viva capitalism.
7. Screw Orange. They give crappy service !
Shadoil79 ,   Jerusalem   (06.04.15)
8. 6
CJK   (06.04.15)
boycotts are illegal under the rules of the world trade organisation. boycotts of israel are also illegal under the laws of the united states. further laws are being passed by state governments in the us. contrary to what you think, capitalism does not function in a legal void. of course, powerful commercial states can exploit smaller states. however, such actions might have unintended consequences. the arab boycott of israel has made her stronger and more self sufficient.
9. Israel's government is a joke
(06.04.15)
10. orange has been dead in Israel for over 4 years
rachel ,   here   (06.05.15)
More and more shops were closed. 5 years ago I bought a orange SIM......When I came back to stay last year I ended up ditching the company because there were hardly any offices/shops to get service.
11. #3 why don't you ask Israeli R&D centers of:
(06.05.15)
Intel, Quallcom, Motorola, Microsoft, Apple, Google, IBM, Samsung, Nokia, Cisco etc... Hey Spit, Any idea why none of R&D centers of these are in Arab countries? Or in France even? "I bet that they already checked and compared the number of Jewish and Arab.." engineers and their quality..
12. #1 - Not true
Spyguy ,   seattle usa   (06.05.15)
The technology used in digital cellular communication was primarily developed in Europe and Asia, NOT in Israel. The original patents for cellular technology came from AT&T Bell Labs (USA). All of these facts are easily found via a quick Google search. In REALITY, Israel contributes very little to GLOBAL technology and what it does contribute is not critical.
13. #8 USA laws STOP at the USA borders
Spyguy ,   seattle usa   (06.05.15)
The only reason the USA is going after FIFA is because the criminal activity took place on USA soil, BUT note that there is a very good chance the eventual trial will fall apart. As for WTO rules they are simply "suggestions" and have no enforcement provisions. The world can and will freely boycott Israel and there is no way for Israel to counter it but CHANGE ITS ACTIONS.
14. Here you go Orange France.
ProphetS ,   Texas, US   (06.05.15)
Well Orange France may any and all damage to Israel boomerang back to you hundredfold and may your Arab operations be cursed. May any and all financial setback by your actions move money from your coffers to the coffers of Partner, Israel.
15. cellphone
karenofficer ,   Gillette Wyoming   (06.05.15)
This is why from the start when in Israel I use cellphone an Israeli company.
16. Yes,Split, but when Orange will soon
(06.05.15)
Dropbox in world operations, then they will understand they Shot themselves in their own foot. And, BTW, they should better get their RD out of Israel. Israel has its own RD.
17. Listen to the Interview
Tim ,   Brighton   (06.05.15)
Is THIS seriously the face of Orange corporate values and ethics Shoddy, trashy and downright grovelling Far from ORANGE this business shows itself as more of a LEMON There are FAR FAR better options around. I wouldn't touch Orange with a bargepole
18. 8
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (06.05.15)
The decision by Orange to retreat from the Israeli market is not a boycott. It is just a strategic business decision by a company. Please look up the deffinition of a boycott, both in a general and in a legal manner.
