What Bibi does not seem to understand is congress can NOT tell other countries what to do. Even if congress does stop the USA part of the agreement (not likely), most of the other countries on earth will simply ignore congress and drop all sanctions and freely trade with Iran (it is a big and wealthy market). If congress tries to use the USA controlled global banking system, most nations will simply shift their activity to the new Chinese global banking system. If congress tries to "punish" countries for trading with Iran, those countries will simply throw all USA companies out of their markets. Sure congress can give Israel more money, but that could easily turn into a very negative item in an election year when many Americans still feel poor. Israelis should understand that Bibi is "going all in" at the poker table and Israelis are very likely going to lose BIG. BTW - there is zero guarantee that the next president will be any friendlier than Obama. Sure the next president is probably going to be Clinton, but she is no a sure bet when it comes to Israel. After seeing how Obama has been treated by Israel, she may not be very friendly.

The USA population is vastly more liberal that the republican candidates. Less than 30% of Americans identify as republicans and most of those are old, white men who are now very much a minority that is losing power. At the end of the day the Republicans who he is so avidly courting have to answer the question what is most important......what's in the best interest of America or what is in the best interest of Israel? If an American politician, Republican or Democrat, is seen by their constituents to be putting the interests of Israel over those of America they will lose their seat in Congress. If Netanyahu had any smarts he would have been speaking with Obama from day one of the negotiations and got a better deal. He could have received every weapon he requested as well as security guarantees. Instead, he invokes the Holocaust every time he speaks about Iran and his words are falling on deaf ears all around the world. If he thinks that he will get Congress to scuttle the deal he is badly mistaken and he is causing more harm to Israel than Iran ever could. BUT exactly zero ever say HOW that would be done and how much destruction of Israel would be "acceptable" as a consequence of any attack.
