1. One has to more that super gullible to buy this explanation!
(08.31.15)
Just another "getting back at the Jews" gesture... No other theory makes sense. NOBODY can be that stupid or oblivious to history, especially the Management!
2. shoah shower
Barry Horowitz ,   Palm Beach   (08.31.15)
It's another shoah all over again.
3. mist showers
refreshthetree ,   Boston, USA   (08.31.15)
These people need to get a hold of themselves, the purpose of the mist is to keep their overly sensitive bodies cool and have nothing to do with the killing showers. Comon, seriously!
4. Mist Shower should be moved
Tova ,   Canada   (08.31.15)
and better labelled for visitors letting them know the showers are for cooling on a very hot day. For surviors of the holocaust this would bring memories of a horrific time. For todays youth they would be glad to have a cool shower. I doubt management did this on purpose. Hopefully management will move the shower to a different area.
5. Please.....Get A Life!
World Citzen ,   the world   (08.31.15)
The Israeli government has achieved what it set out to do. It has made the Israeli people the biggest whiners on the planet. No wonder no one listens to this constant cry baby stuff anymore.
6. Mr. Bolka ,...
split   (08.31.15)
It would be more prudent to pay some attention to your youth disrespectful behavior in that place instead of bitching because showers are called showers.
7. #1 ,...
split ,   US   (08.31.15)
You folks need to cheer up a bit and enjoy a life instead looking for a Nazi under every rock and around every corner ,...
8. You go to auschwitz, but don't want to be reminded of shower
James USA   (08.31.15)
Some people just like to whine!
9. Showers
Mike from Ohio ,   Toledo, OH   (08.31.15)
It's a stretch to equate a cooling mist shower to the gas dispersion system. Some must find offense in everything they see or it just ruins their day. Sad.
10. showers
Tom Fuller ,   Lubbock, TX USA   (08.31.15)
I love Poland and the Jewish people. I deplore the Holocaust, have visited Auschwitz and give lectures on it. However, getting offended at a cooling-off mechanism is ridiculous. Channel your offense toward something useful and actually similar, such as convenience abortion.
11. Mist
Stevie H ,   FL USA   (09.01.15)
I'm really sorry it struck you that way but please realize the reason they were put there was so that people like my family members don't pass out from overheating. I guarantee you the museum was not trying to insult your past, they were only trying to protect their visitors
12. Shower at Auschwitz
Gerald A Smith ,   Managua Nicaragua   (09.01.15)
As an expert in evaporative cooling for outside cooling there are several excellent portable air coolers on the market and hundreds of chinese copies that dont work so well. They are available in Europe and would serve perfectly to cool the waiting clients without giving offence.
13. those responsible for decision held accountable
jon ,   las vegas nv   (09.01.15)
Who exactly manages this memorial and who made the decision to place these moronic shower mists at the entrance? No one can be that stupid. Instead of complaining - there needs to be a demand for a change of management at the Auschwitz memorial.
14. Who is ridiculous here?
jon ,   las vegas   (09.01.15)
Actually it is not ridiculous at all. What is ridiculous however is your dismissive reaction to an obviously stupid and moronic gesture on the part of the persons making the decision at the memorial at Auschwitz.
15. HOW IT IS
PARTNER PC ,   reality truthsfulll   (09.01.15)
note the difference the way americans think or care they dont THEY ARE SHALLOLW AND GREEDHY

THE SYMPATHY GLANDS HOW THEY ARE USED IN THE MEDIA TO SPREAD TERRIORISM HYSTERIA
17. Auschwitz Showers
Leon Scott ,   Knoxville, USA   (09.01.15)
Give me a break! Offended by the Poles trying to keep the Jewish tourists comfortable in the oppressive heat? As another person commented, the Poles could have just bulldozed the whole site and been done with it. The people who were offended by this need to get a life. Push, push, push! That's all they know and they just keep doing it. Sooner or later the majority of the people in the US and Europe will just be sick of it and there will be a backlash against Jews in general brought on by their own actions.
18. Grow Up
rex ,   Valdosta - Usa   (09.01.15)
Misters remind us of gas chambers? Oh, please!!! That's what concentration camps were doing. Why not just sanitize the experience by keeping the folks in the gift shop and sell them guard tower chewing gum, a photo next to Micky Mouse, and send them on their way.
19. Auschwitz mist showers
Don_in_Odessa ,   America   (09.01.15)
Seriously? Some people need to get over themselves. Do they really believe the management is trying to insult them? What a bunch of idiots. This creeping and expanding demand for "politically correctness" has got to stop!
20. It is even worse
Tomek ,   Poland   (09.01.15)
Next to the mist generators they also sell, among other things, cookies that were baked in, yeah you guessed it, ovens.
21. @LEON SCOTT
Dave ,   USA   (09.01.15)
To Leon Scott, Trying to create fear in those who call this stupid, ridiculous and highly insensitive gesture for what it is - is the tactic of a bigot and a bully like yourself. The individuals who would be haters of Jews because they call this for what it is are going to hate period. They just need an excuse.
22. @"Tomek"
Dave ,   USA   (09.01.15)
I guess its all good to you because you have no sense of context and taste. So therefore you make a silly comparison between cookies and shower mist. Yes? How would you feel as a survivor seeinga shower mist at the Auschwitz memorial. You think that is appropriate Iguess? Have just a little bit of common sense.
23. Reminded of Showers?
Jeff H. ,   Tampa, FL   (09.01.15)
James, The whole camp reminds people, especially Jews, of showers and the evil eradication of life. If you exercise some empathy and understanding, you can easily see why misters can raise anxiety and bad feelings in the people against whom such evil was directed.
24. pc gone mad
bruce ,   somehwere, usa   (09.01.15)
I am saddened to hear that the ignorant PC mentality is leaking from the US into the rest of the world. It is absurd to think poorly of these cooling jets unless you are a hyper sensitive ninny.
25. A bit of a stretch.
Max Cohen ,   New York, USA   (09.01.15)
It could remind *some* (though that's probably an awfully small number), but I believe the good intentions of the caretakers take the lead in this.
26. #22
Tomek ,   Poland   (09.01.15)
If a person is mentally unbalanced, it is their problem, not somebody else's. I just came back from Volhynia where Ukrainians murdered my family with axes and forks during WWII. I saw many people using these tools there. Did I freak out? No, because I am normal. August was exceptionally scorching hot in Poland. All those complaining would have been passing out if it was not for the misters. A storm in a tea cup, that what it is.
27. Were they spraying Zyklonn-B???
Mr. Jones ,   USA   (09.01.15)
Were they spraying Zyklonn-B??? That would have been offensive. The only thing that was spraying was Moron gas because it worked.
28. You're kidding...Right?
Dave   (09.01.15)
Over sensitized crybabies! Wait!!! Where did you go? Auschwitz?? You don't want to be "reminded" of things from the holocaust? Dude, you got on the wrong friggin tour bus!! Go to the Ice Rink in Oswiecim or a castle you won't feel the need whine like a b!tch there..... Never mind, you probably will. This overly PC Sh!t has to go!!!!!!!!!
29. @Tomek (again)
Dave ,   USA   (09.01.15)
Tomek Again - you might feel differently if you were a survivor and the FIRST thing you happened to see was the shower mists. Even the brain of a dullard should be able to sense what is wrong with such a picture. You should not have to be a survivor of such horrors to empathize with those who are. Try to look at it from a perspective other than your own and hopefully you may understand why it is inappropriate.
30. Auschwitz
moshe ,   NY, USA   (09.01.15)
Why is Auschwitz still standing as a reminder for any kind of horror and the prospect that it could one day be reactivated? It should have been demolished 75 years ago along with all the other death camps.
