assad made the huge mistake of alligning himself with the shia terror entity rather than with the sunni states and the west. he thereby invited iran to occupy parts of syria and the russians followed with their military. russia will not leave syria unless forced to do so by force of arms. such force of arms is inexistent and will remain inexistent for now. however, russia does not have the capability to unite syria by force. neither does iran have the manpower or the treasure to fully occupy syria and unite it under the shia crescent. hence, assad might get a little rump state in latakia which will never be recognised internationally. eastern syria will continue to be chaotic, ruled by various islamist groups. all of syria will continue to be destroyed by the various players in the country. many more syrian civilians will be slaughtered to assuage the bloodlust of putin, the mad ayatollahs and the psychopaths of the islamic state.
