1. It's a shame and selfdestructing
robert ,   antwerp   (07.25.16)
I sincerely hope for the sake of orthodox youngsters and Israel as a state that the next government will enshrine the minimum curriculum in the basic law of the country
2. The author is correct in his future analysis
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (07.25.16)
For the Ultra-orthodox children, but this government (and any another) has no choice, if it wants to survive politically. The Haredi leadership strives to keep its pupils ignorant in general knowledge, in order to minimize the danger of its graduates to forsake their ranks during working in non-Haredi milieu, and preserve them under these rabbis' full control.
3. Sad
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.26.16)
but true.

The future is being threatened, mostly for the Ultra-Orthodox, but for all of us too.
Ignorant and left to fend for themselves, unprepared for the job market and unable to make a living, these poor kids have no future.
We as a nation will continue to be forced to support them and their large families. They as a group will continue to be restricted to a way of life that
ill suits the larger culture around them.

Not good for Israel, not good for the ultra- orthodox as a group and not good for our people.
4. Israel is self-destructing, you are correct.
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.27.16)
When Israelis voted out the Centrist Parties, they ushered in self-destruction. A change must be made in Israel immediately and hold long term. Educating Haredim in Math, Science, Engineering, Medicine and foreign languages must happen in order to qualify them to seek employment.
5. HaShem is the master mathemetician and historian and He
Rivkah   (07.29.16)
understands all languages. Put the core curriculum back into the schools.
