1. Abortion was allowed in Scriptures during war and famine
Rivkah   (12.31.16)
since being born meant being eaten or starving to death. Preventing pregnancy in Scriptures was done by eating mandrakes which like soy had a high estrogen content which like oral contraceptives prevented the implantation of the fertilized zygote into the uterine wall, hence preventing pregnancy. Leah in Scriptures gave mandrakes to her sister Rachel to prevent her from conceiving in my opinion. In the Song of Songs of Solomon, the bride entices the bridegroom to come to her bed by telling him she ate mandrakes (to prevent conception). Victims of rape who conceived were not put to death but the rapist had to pay the woman who was violated or her father the cost of a house equivalent in that day or he had to marry her without ever divorcing her because he humbled her or he could be put to death. The unborn child was not punished by abortion for the harm the rapist father did to the mother but could not enter the Congregation (church) for ten generations. King David's ancient ancestor Rahab was a harlot before marrying a Hebrew after protecting General Joshua's spies in Jericho. It was ten generations from Rahab that David was crowned king and could enter the tabernacle of haShem even as a boy. He did not have to remain in the outer court since the 10 generations had passed from his ancestor who was a harlot before she was saved eternally. She became a saint by covenant to Elohim by sacrifice (risking her life to protect the Hebrew spies). It would be terrible to have a child by a man one did not wish to have a child by since the anger at the biological father would affect the child because unless adopted, the child would likely be hated by the mother. But to end a pregnancy because the child is mamzerim would mean Gideon would not have been born, who was a Judge of Israel and a great General and hero. It would mean William the Conquerer would not be born since he was mamzerim. Many of the Fathers of the Tribes of Israel were born to concubines which made them mamzerim.
