This "mistake" is called anti Semitism in it's oldest form.

1000 years of anti-Semitism in the German speaking lands (which prompted Ashkenasi Jews to migrate east to Poland 1000 years ago), WW1, and WW2, the Holocaust and consistent categorical and organized German governmental interference with Israel's capital, borders, and internal and doemstic affairs, and German governmental interference with Israel's right to construct cities in its historical and legal homeland, is surely not a mistake.

It's anti-Semitism disguised as "polictically correct Israel hatred".

Hatred of Zionism, hatred of Israel and hatred of the Jews are one and the same hatred: the hatred of the very existence of a free, living, independent and sovereign Jewish people, who are masters of their own fate.

For whatever reason, European imperialism and expansionism have been lambasted and criticized, when they are targetting the whole World, except for Israel. It seems that European imperialist intervention with the affairs of other independent and sovereign countries is acceptable as long as the target of imperialist interference is Israel.

European logic: European imperalism in Africa, North and South America, Middle East and Asia - not okay. European imperialism and intervention in the JEWISH STATE OF ISRAEL - that's "okay".
