bibi wanted coaltion crisis to kick out bennett and kahlon in favour of herzog and zionnist union so he could implement herzog's plan of withdrawal from west bank. he doen\t have the guts to do it alone, thogh many israelis have no confidence in him or herzog, who is a born pacifist.
can you imagine herzog confronting hezbollah and syria as lieberman is doing right now. herzog would offer up the golan to keep them at bay. israelis would be out of their minds to accept a herzog govt.
even now bibi sends his advisor to kiss trump's rear end on a herzog peace plan which will kill israel. so why would bibi do this?
well, there is a strong chance he will be indicted so he wants to make the laying of an indictment harder.
secondly, look at the gaza report where basically called bibi a failure, sitting asking a few questions and then running to a ceasefire before the tunnels were destroyed and other objectives like arab naval yards and fuel depots liquidated. so bibi wanted to change the channel and wth herzog as peace foreign minister, he would take the pressure off of himself and then enact policies that might get the press to pressure mandlebilt not to indict him. half of likud doesn't see through this. and there are some notable cowards inthat party. they should open a leadership convention to saar, barkat, katz and others and hand bibi his walking papers.feilgin, bennett,e ven barkat would be far superior to bibi as shapira disclosed. and lapid is even worse than bibi as far as military matters are concerned.read the shapira report again on what lapid and livni did and did not do.
