Most diplomats don't speak German and do German (and other) diplomats don't speak the language of countries in which they serve.

This is a typical case of JGM....... Jewish Ghetto Mentality!

Word. It has been at least since 1996 that the vast majority of Israeli Diplomats speak Hebrew and English only!
Why? Because. Prime Minister Netanyahu doesn't care about non-English speaking countries!

The EU and not the US is Israel’s most important trading partner, yet Israeli foreign policy is not only focused on the US but disregards a meaningful diplomatic investment in Berlin and other European capitals.

What works in the US, doesn’t work in the Old World. I am aware that we make advances in the Third World but we need Europe. Having an ambassador that doesn’t know German will create a cultural gap between him and the German audience.

I really wonder how our Foreign Policy that started with Moshe Sharett and Abba Ebban, came to this sad state of affairs.
