Does Yariv truly believes what he wrote? With whom are we going to reach an agreement? With Hamas who insists that 1967 borders are an insult to the "Umah" (nation)? With Fatah who insists of flooding Israel proper with 5mil+ "refugees", killing it demographically?
I commend you however for your provocative article. It will do some stirring around..... Shabbat Shalom
2. Dangerously wrong leftists wonder why they aren't trusted!
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.12.17)
What caused Israel's endless terror and wars with Hezbollah in Lebanon? Israel's retreat from our South Lebanon Security Zone; a dumb self destructive leftist policy.

What caused Israel's endless terror and wars with Hamas in Gaza? Israel's retreat from Gaza; another dumb self destructive leftist policy.

What caused the maiming and murder of tens of thousands of Israelis, at the hands of "Palestinian" terrorists since 1993? Oslo, yet another dumb, self destructive leftist policy.

Leftists are infallibly, dangerously wrong about every major policy, and they wonder why Israelis don't trust them!
3. Right Not Against Peace, Just National Suicide
Aharon   (05.12.17)
The Right isn’t afraid of listening to the “Palestinian” side, rather the Right recognizes the idiocy of the “Palestinians’” side. You mention “Palestinian” pain and grief, the lack of rights, the despair and humiliation as if all of this that is simply Israel’s fault. The reality is that all of these ills rest squarely with the “Palestinians” themselves, and they only have themselves to blame. Their refusal to deal with this issues and to accept responsibility for them is the main reason why they continue to suffer. If the “Palestinians” truly desire self-determination and their own state, they need to be able to take responsibility for their own people and to people to solve these issues on their own. Their incapability of doing so only proves that the “Palestinians” don’t deserve a state, as if the lack of a “Palestinian” people in any point in history didn’t already preclude them from self-determination.

Further, it doesn’t take a genius to understand many of the motives behind terrorists attacks carried out by Arabs. Blaming the IDF and Shabak for radicalization is unfounded and the likely answer, once again is found within Arab society. Children are inundated with radicalized images and education through children’s television programming to school programming. When you are raised from a young child to believe that a certain group of people are evil and hear that message repeated by older, “wiser” adults, it only ingrains that message. The solution(s) is to change the education and messaging young Arabs receive. Short of that, it will be to stop being Israel//Jewish, and even that probably wouldn’t stop the terror attacks (just look at the rest of the Middle East).

Further, why should Israel makes major concessions for peace when the Arabs give up relatively little? It was Israel who won the wars in ’67 and ’73 why should Israel give up land that the Arabs used to attack it? Why should Israel give up land that is the cradle of Jewish civilization, especially to those who would almost certainly destroy it? The claim that land is less valuable than a peace deal is patently wrong. LAND = PEACE. There is a reason why Israel hasn’t had the large-scale types of wars that it had in 48, 67, and 73 because it held the land that made those wars very difficult to happen. It’s because Israel held that land that led Egypt and Jordan to make peace agreements with Israel knowing that further military conflict would only hurt their own countries.

The problem with Yariv and others on the left is that they are way to focused on the peace deal, that they don’t care about the impact from that deal or whether the deal will hold at all. They believe that signing a deal is the ultimate goal, and that once achieved, everything will magically change. That’s not reality, it’s a pipe dream.

6. The Right has a plan. One State w/o Gaza. 67% Jewish.
Jake   (05.12.17)
Israel must stop degrading itself by negotiating with unrepentant mass murderers. Its a national disgrace, and a cold knife in the back to all those who have lost loved ones to PLO terrorism.

So what is the alternative to a two state solution?

Using Israeli census data from 1995 (the last year a reliable census was taken in Judea & Samaria) if one adds births and immigrants, subtracts deaths and emigrants, the number of Arabs is nowhere close to the PLO figures, and there is a 67% growing Jewish majority from the river to the sea.

Legalizing expat voting would increase the Jewish electoral majority well above 70%. Eliminating PLO rule will drastically reduce internal terrorism, as evidenced by the extremely low rate of Israeli Arabs joining terror groups. The problem in Judea & Samaria is not Israeli settlements, its the PLO.

Its unfortunate that the Right is taking so long to assemble behind this obvious solution. One state, excluding Gaza, is the way to go.
7. The right aims to destroy Israel
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (05.12.17)
This slew of posts underlines a tragic strand in Jewish history: a capacity to be the eternal victim even in the wake of victory. Israel is the most powerful state in the region and yet there are those who believe its existence mus be based on fear. If the Palestians did not exist they would need to be invented. In short, the Right requires enemies to justify itself. What a betrayal of Hatikvah!
8. When I watch Oppenheimer on Channel 20-"Patriots", he seems

quite capable of formulating logical thoughts/sentences. Why is it then, that his core values are entirely insane & deranged? It goes for the entire Zombie camp of Piss-Process robots.
9. TO AN IGNORANT YARIV...
FO ,   Belgium   (05.13.17)
I'm not going to spend chapters arguing with a seemingly ignorant guy about history and legalistics. Of course, Yariv, no intentions to try to persuade you that a Palestinian nation doesn't exist, just an invention of the KGB in the early sixties to punish Israel for not having become a satellite of the USSR. The majority of the Muslims in the so-called territories are the descendants of migrants from neighboring countries, who entered illegally Palestine trough none guarded borders while the British Mandatory imposed a maritime blockade to prevent Jews flying for their life Europe during WW II, to enter Palestine. Imagine in the future, the millions of Muslim migrants in Western Europe of today requiring independent separate state in the countries they found refuge. About the so called West-Bank: I can't accuse you when even the Israeli authorities haven't the guts to proclaim Israel's legal rights in International Law on said territories, including the total city of Jerusalem, and ... the Golan Heights, an IRREVOCABLE RIGHT voted by the League of Nations and reaffirmed by Article 80 of the United Nations' Charter. Once, Yariv, Israel's ownership on the so called territories universally accepted, then a solution can be contemplated including the participation of Jordan, Jordan that remains 77% of the territory that had been allocated to the Jewish people to create their state, but was robbed by the British and tacitly accepted by the then Left majority of the World Zionist Organization, what gave the British an opportunity to create an artificial country named Jordan.
10. What is the Left so sure about when.........
tiki ,   belgium   (05.13.17)
poll after poll prove that the Palestinian Arabs are **not willing to reach a compromise & national consensus, are **not willing to talk or even normalize relations and **not willing to live in peace & harmony in two states for 2 people.

Even Mr. Oppenheimer isn't to sure about his case or he wouldn't start his comments with.......

What **if there is a willingness to reach a compromise than we **may be able ""to talk to them?""" and **maybe even reach a 2-state solutions.

These are a lot of if, may & maybe after years of fruitless talks about all the above.

If Mr.Oppenheimer would listen to the Palestinian Arabs instead of massaging their actual words into dream messages, he would come to the same result as the right, which is.....there is nobody to talk to and the only consensus among Palestinians is a State of Palestine **instead the State of Israel.

Just look at their flag, listen to their Arab speeches and judge them by their deeds Mr. Oppenheimer.
11. The "right" isn't afraid.
Brad   (05.14.17)
The "right" is the only group that is able to see what Israel's enemies are up to. The "left" won't see it even though it's happening in plain sight. That's because the useful idiots (the left) are willing to give up land for peace, even though that scenario has happened before without the "peace". If the "right" is afraid of anything, it's that the useful idiots will take charge and make concessions and only get more terrorism for it, as always.
