1. Total incompetence

Instead of conserving water, the govt awards multi billion dollar contracts to its buddies/cronies (hello Yediot...somebody want to check donations to political parties?) who run the desalination companies. So we spend billions of dollars a year to burn expensive fossil fuels to desalinate seawater. At the same time, there is NO conservation effort, no change in the billing for commercial or domestic water use, the Kinneret goes down, the coastal aquifers suffer more salt-water incursion, and the buffoons in the Knesset crow about Israel being numero uno in water.
These irresponsible water policies are doing damage to the country and should be changed.
