mr.benassi from wherever,

hate-mails and fake news are not really helping anyone. Rafik halabi is very much israeli. He is completely right. You may adjust to reality.
5. Mr. Halabi is very correct, he is a proud Israeli patriot.
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.17.17)
Israel is sinking with the unreasonable right wing nationalism. The leaders who support the damage don't understand how wrong they are, they don't comprehend what it means to be an Israeli citizen. Mr. Halabi is correct when writing that Israel must by all means "internalize the laws of citizenship in a democratic state."
Looking today at Israel, along with many of Americans and Israelis, I identify with Mr. Halabi and his Patriot citizens in Daliyat al-Karmel, and I wish for a rapid change to occur.
6. Halabi should accept that Israel is a Jewish state
Michael ,   Manchester   (07.18.17)
and be loyal to Israel. Jews in Diaspora were always loyal to countries where they lived and never questioned their national character. Israel does not discriminate against minorities. Only Jewish Israel will guarantee the Law of Return.
7. Who is a Israeli? Answer: a person who is Jewish
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv   (07.29.17)
The terminology "Israeli" is not a matter of citizenship. Israeli is matter of ethnicity. Only Jews are Israelis because the word "Israeli" is synonymous with Israelite/Hebrew, Judean and/or Jewish. Regardless of where Jews live, in Israel or abroad, they are Israelis - ethnically speaking.

Although some (quite many actually) in Israel and abroad wouldn't consider Jews and Israelis to be synonomous, they are indeed one and the same, just like Champagne and white sparkling wine are one and the same.

Israel was founded as a Jewish state by Jews, and the majority population is ethnically and culturally and religiously speaking Jewish (although far from everybody is religious), and even the name "Israel" refers to our ancient and original homeland called "Israel", which was populated by our Jewish ancestors - the Israelites. And they were called "Israelites" because they were the Children of Israel - meaning the Children of Jacob.

Try try try, you can't make a separation between Jews and Israelis. They are one and the same. Left wing ultra liberal Jews in USA are Israelis - ethnically speaking, even though they don't speak a Word of Hebrew and most of which have never sat their foot in Israel, and the Sabras of Israel, are Jews, just like their diaspora cousins in Europe, USA, Canada and Australia.

The play with words - Jews/Judeans/Israelites/Israelis/Hebrews, is no different than the connection between Hellenes and Greeks and Persians and Iranians.

Non-Jews of Israel are not Israelis since they aren't ethnically speaking of Israeli (Jewish ethnicity). What they on the other hand are, is Israeli citizens, just like Jews of Germany and France aren't ethnically German or French, but merely German and French Citizens.

If there are dozens of ethnicity based nation states across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, who may maintain their national identity despite having ethnic and religious minorities amongst them, then Israel should be able to do the same.

Israel is NOT a state for the entire human race. It's a state ONLY for the Jews, and the non-Jews living here will naturally have their democratic and civil individual rights intact, but they MUST accept and respect that Israel is the national homeland only of the Jews and noone else, and if the non-Jews of Israel dislike it, they need to pack their bags and leave and settle down in a society, a country where they will feel at home, and where we Jews will be foreigners.
