1. Are we really debating giving people equal rights!??
Ron   (07.20.17)
Not allowing gay people to get married or have kids is absolutely outrageous. We will look back in 20 years at this debate and think how foolish and close-minded we were. It is inevitable that gays will have equal rights in this country. It's only a matter of time.

Gay people don't decide to be gay. They are born that way and have no choice. The orthodox must begin to accept this. If it goes against what it says in the Torah, that is absolutely their problem and the orthodox need to find a way to reconcile with it.
2. More negativity towards gays will grant them full rights.
Adina   (07.20.17)
This happened time and again throughout the western world. The more negativity and discrimination against the gays, the more rights they eventually got (like having the right to marry, adopt, have kids, not be discriminated against, etc). The extreme right is fighting a losing battle.

It really is absurd that people hate them so much. Especially our fellow Jews who were hated for 2,000 years for absolutely no reason.
3. blame the courts
zionist forever   (07.20.17)
This decision was made by the High Court not the government so its not political.
Israel is also well known for being very pro gay, Tel Aviv even tried to market itself for tourism amongst the gay sector.
There is no rule that says you have to like the judgement of the court but it must be respected and the and we have an independent judiciary in this country
4. the darkest hour...
david ,   hadera   (07.20.17)
is right before the dawn......Bob Dylan
5. every child deserves a mother and a father
david ,   new york   (07.20.17)
i get it, that homosexual "marriage" was pushed by activists and now they can send you for "re-education" if you think it is bad.
well, destroying morals does help the left wing activists, but it doesnt help our society. here in new york we have signs on public bathrooms in universities that anyone who identifies (this week) as a woman can use the women's bathroom even if they are clearly a man. high school locker rooms have this too and boys objecting to women showering there are told to be "more tolerant"
the left is driving us off a cliff and in the end people will seek morality and religion, but it will be radical islam.
you can see it already
6. IS the sexual identity of parents important?
observerms ,   Tivon   (07.20.17)
Most people have a male father or a female mother. That by itself doesn't mean that they will be good parents.

But the question remains : IS the sexual identity of a mother or father
important to the development of a child?

The possibility that same sex parents might be better parents is not denied,
but there IS that question.

7. Gays
Aharon ,   Jerusalem   (07.20.17)
As a quick reminder, Israel is a Jewish state. Judaism is governed by Torah in which the Creator of the Universe expressly forbids this behavior as an abomination before Him. Question answered.
8. Israel is very tolerant to gays
Dan   (07.21.17)
Tel Aviv is one of the world's most tolerant gay centres. Gay couples hold hands and kiss openly — walk along Rothschild Bvd any night — and gay Arabs flock there from the occupied territories where they are persecuted by their fellow Arabs. Yes, the mad religious right is hostile, and the current right wing government gives in to them sometimes, but most Israelis don't care — they have other worries!
9. No one is born gay. Life circumstances make them so.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.20.17)
All the gays and lesbians I know wouldn't adopt this life style if there wasn't something that influenced them and it is not biology.
10. A REALITY CHECK
CAPTAIN REALITY ,   SAFED REALITY   (07.20.17)
Not everyone is forced to approve of gays and gay adoption of children etc some of us believe in the sanctity of traditional marriage . Man meets woman etc
11. ISRAEL AND ZIONISM
THEODORE HURTSEL ,   SAFED ZIONISM   (07.20.17)
Israel was founded as The Jewish state ,not the homosexual state. If one wants to live in a gay environment ,San Francisco is waiting with open arms.
12. ISRAEL MUST CHANGE
THEODORE HURTSEL ,   SAFED HONESTY   (07.20.17)
Israel must become less jewish and more gay. Instead of places like Kiryat Ono ,we should have Kiryat Homo. Instead of Kiryat Shmona ,we need Queeryat Shmona .
13. One can criticize/doubt "God's" existence/commandments, but
(07.24.17)
how dare you question Nature's laws & commandments?!! There's a reason why only two opposite sexes can produce offspring (at least in mammals)
We're not "equal"/ interchangeable as men/women! That's why children need to experience both sides of the coin. Just wait & see the new, uncharted problems that'll arise in these poor kids, that have two mommies/daddies....
14. Does the LGBT community care about Israel?
MadDad ,   Johannesburg   (07.25.17)
Clearly not
They have decided that Israel and its Jews are not acceptable while embracing Islamic Jihad as its new symbol
A wise man once said - ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country
In the case of LGBT clearly nothing
15. The LGBT community supports BDS and has
MadDad ,   Johannesburg   (07.25.17)
Chosen to side with radical Islam - in fact anyone and anything that is against Israel
Israel on the other hand has done everything it can for the LGBT community
With such an attitude why should Israels care about them?
16. Why should I support the LGBT community when they have
MadDad ,   Johannesburg   (07.25.17)
chosen to be anti-Israel ant-Jewish and ant-Zionist despite Jews and Israel coming out in their favor and allowing them to flourish?
When the LGBT gets it political house in order my attitude towards them might change
17. Please explain
Joseph ,   USA   (07.25.17)
If is a goyish custom front Europeans how do you and please do explain how there was no Ashkenazi chief Rabbi in Israel until not so long ago but there was a chief Rabbi (that happened to be Sephardic) in Israel for hundreds of years?
