1. Liberman lives on Mars. It's A CHOICE of every Individual !!
Z.Latz ,   israel   (09.14.17)
NO to drafts to army! An army that terrorize other people(Palestinians, Gazans), an army that supports American terrorism thru its proxy ISIS...???
NO.NO.NO.
2. Godly females should not be forced into taking a job they
Rivkah   (09.13.17)
cannot quit. Even in National Service, there can be situations that jeopardize the holiness of a female and that must be considered as grounds for separation from national service. Godly males must also be protected since gang rape in showers of a godly male is so common it is not even prosecuted in the US military which makes the US military unsuitable for godly males to serve in.
3. We know for fact, that should EVERYONE enlist it would
(09.14.17)
cause total collapse of IDF.
We don't need "everyone", never did.
It's only matter of civil decency, to share burdens for the privilege
of living in this Land.
4. national service
Jake ,   Dallas   (09.14.17)
In the US in WW2, religious Jews did not tell Congress, "we will never serve in the US military because we study Torah". Had they done that they would have been immediately arrested. If Israel did the same, there would be no fuss, as there was no fuss in the US. Conscientious objectors can serve in hospitals or in other forms of national service, as they did in the US.
5. Learning Torah contributes more than national service
Shani ,   Beit Shemesh   (09.14.17)
As we see in the Bible - "elef lamateh v'elef lamateh" which means that for every 1000 soldiers fighting, there were 1000 soldiers learning. See also the case with King Chizkiyahu - Sanheriv and his huge army came to attack the Jews. Chizkiyahu and the Jewish army kept their faith, learned Torah, and celebrated the holiday of Passover without preparing for physical battle whatsoever. Know what G-d did? He killed all of Sanheriv's army through a plague, leaving only Sanheriv alive.
We need to learn from our Torah and our holy ancestors regarding proper behavior. Yes, we need an army. Yes, we need Torah learning. Unfortunately we don't have enough people learning Torah. Those who are learning should be cherished and respected instead of ridiculed.

Finally, the Charedi community at large will always listen to Rabbis before listening to the paid gov't officials who are ignorant of basic Jewish law (for ex, the head of Avoda just said the other day that boys in meah shearim cannot touch their mothers. Um...not true. Go to meashearim and see for yourself.) The bagatz and knesset members needs to realize how the Charedi community works -- that the Rabbis make the rules, and they should consult with Rabbis about these "pressing" issues rather than making irrelevant laws and inconsiderate comments.
