As long as there is no separation between state and religion, Israel can't be considered as a democratic state. And who was responsible for a situation that prevails till today? Ben Gurion who introduced the religious parties in the coalition, just to prevent Begin's Herut party to ever be part of a government.

Jewish is an ethnicity that happens to have its own religion. Not wanting a religious state doesn't mean we're against a state that is Jewish in character.
