31. Hezbollah did not win
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (08.31.06)
They were getting their ass kicked by the IDF and cried for Reuters, "Green Helmet Guy" and the U. freaking N. to force a ceasefire. If Nasrallah "won" why is he cowering in a spider hole like Saddam instead of partying with his homeys?
32. your shovel in your destroyed country
(08.31.06)
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
33. Don't let Him Reach His 47th (terror) Year
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (08.31.06)
The IAF needs to do what it does best - drop a tonnage of 'birthday' bombs on Nasrallah's hidey hole. The Olmert regime must NOT allow him to reach his 47th year. This cannot be like another Arafat routine where he was able to agitate from the Muquata. Furthermore, there are no excuses. Israeli intelligence surely knows where he is holed up. The distance from Israel to anywhere in Lebanon can be reached by the forces.
34. We Lebanese are NOT with you!
Joue ,   Lebanon   (08.31.06)
Their are some brainwashed Lebanse/Iranian sheep here who will lick Nasrallah's feet even though he is responsible for the death and destruction due to his adventures. We are NOT with you and you will be disarmed soon.
35. Birthday is the best time to dead...
jwishman ,   NY, USA   (08.31.06)
Happy birthday Mr. Nasrallah!!!
36. No cake for this pudgy puddin'-eatin' pot-belly
Jake   (08.31.06)
This rotund, round-bellied rascal has been pigging out on kataifi and baklava for too long in the safety of his bunker far away from the war that HE ignited. I propose a new diet of bread and water for this grotesque grimacing ghoul in a different kind of bunker: a maximum security cell in the deepest dungeon available, where he can give names to the rats that share his cell: Fajr, Khaybar, and Zilzal, and the cockroach Ahmedinejad.
37. May you go to heaven
Gary ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.31.06)
Today
38. To Fadi and friends
Adam ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (08.31.06)
First of all it was never my intention to imply that ALL the Lebanese posting on Ynet were morons and certainly not all the Lebanese generally. Secondlly, I didn't say that Syria attacked Israel in the Six Day war, just that it had been shelling us for the 18 years prior. With regard to the Pali refugees, in all wars there are refugees. The maximum number of non Jewish people that fled what became Israel is 525,000 and 68% of them never saw a Jewish soldier. This means that in the course of combat there were 168,000 refugees despite Jewish calls for them to stay in their homes. These occured in strategic areas and in many cases such as Deir Yassin; the villagers in a most despicable fashion raised the white flag and then began shooting. So yes in the course of a war that was not initiated by us and in which WE were the underequiped party 168,000 people were forced to leave whereas on the other hand, 675,000 Jews were also forced to leave the Arabic speaking countries leaving behind 10 times the amount of money and property that the 525,000 Arabic speakers of prestate Israel left behind. With regard to refugees and international law; while those refugee were no fault of Israel, Israel would be abliged to take in refugees UNDER THE UNHCR (United Nations High Commisioner for Refugees) definition of refugees ie the internaitonally accepted definition for refugees from all other situations. This would mean that an estimated 400,000 elderly Arabic speakers could come and stay. This despite the fact that a majority of non-Jews were also from immigrant background. Only the original refugees are eligible for return under any definition and any further immigration is up to the state in question. Instead of this that grotesque terror camoflage the UNRWA exists as a multi generational semi voluntary anti Israel army. By the way it's not about picking and choosing with international law as some resolutions are relevant under article seven of the UN charter which makes such resolutions legally binding whereas others are merely suggested courses of action. Also Yes the UN partition gave the people who had called themselves previously the 'Southern Syrians' (as opposed to the 'Palestinians' ie the Jews) a state (just like Transjordanian seperation originally intended to do) but they rejected it. IT was never what they wanted. Regarding the comment about the Syrian border; yes I'm aware of the delicate situation that Lebanon is in and that in any case it would be difficult for Lebanon to go over Syria's head with regard to Israel. The Syrian border is the reason that Aoun sits in the Arabist camp. Regarding the Olmert govt I hate him I hate Peretz and I hate Halutz. I didn't vote for them. I have three Lebanese cousins and feel that the awful way that this crisis was handled has caused a real change in Lebanese opinion toward Israel in the sense that of all the countries in the Arab league (pre war) Lebanon had the largest percentage (population wise) who's disagreement with Israel was not personal. However while I empathize with the situation of Lebanon on one hand there is also the element of sovereign responsibility. I am aware that the Future coalition has been trying to deal with it and re assert the 1949-75 armastice situation but after six years of unprovoked attacks on Israel coupled with the fact that we had just gone into the Gaza Strip after attempting withdrawal to rescue one soldier, we couldn't let everyone see us not doint the same for two in the Lebanon. I am not making excuses and am still undecided on the matter but hopefully this will add some background. I believe that this whole mess is the result of the Barak and Sharon governments of Israel and the US administration that allowed Syria to use Lebanon as it's playground. I agree that there should be no peace without justice that is why I voted for Binyamin Netanyahu and the Likud.
39. P.S.
Adam ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (08.31.06)
P.S. Due to Nasrallah the Confessionalist Entity will soon be no more. A Shiite dominated totalitarian state will soon be placed in it''s stead.
40. RE:We Lebanese are NOT with you!
Joue Bgheir Msalleh ,   Lebanese   (08.31.06)
Dude, talk for yourself. If you want democracy, let them make a vote for whos' with and and who's not. You will be surprised by the results. And dude, this is not the place to discuss this, go back to your lebanese forces site, it suits you better. And disarming them, well... keep on dreaming...

46. nasrallah to heaven
esther ,   raanana   (08.31.06)
absolutely, but send him to Christian heaven, where sex with the virgins is a no-no. Instead he will have to sprout angel wings and sing psalms all day long. Let us all pray that he goes there soon. For all the peace-lovers in Lebanon - Israel has no beef with you. Peace with Jordan and Egypt is working. I see no reason why we could not live in peace side by side once terror is eradicated from your country. May we all live to see the day! Salaam Aleykom!
47. To all Lebanese Nazis
Shiekh yer Bu'Tay ,   Dar al-Harb   (08.31.06)
Nazi-rallah "prefers to mark the day...in a manner allowed by security considerations." In other words, Nazi-rallah is still hiding like the coward he is!! Why does he AVOID MARTYRDOM?? Allah is most displeased with this. Allah is displeased with all who call for Jihad, yet hide behind women and children.

53. Fadi an beginings of that medieval mind set
Sandman ,   Ann Arbor-Mich-USA   (08.31.06)
...........The devout Shiite movement called the Nizari Ismailis also known as the "Assassins" controlled a large domain in the Middle East including great part of Lebanon. The daggers of the Nizari Ismalis struck down Christians and Muslims alike with equal ferocity. Their name was derived from their adherence to the teachings of the 8th century Imam Ismail and the 12th century Imam named Nizar. The assinins were founded in 1090AD by Hasan-i-Sabah. A very bizarre relationship developed between the Knights Templar Crusader order and the Assassins for they had in common thier devotion, proclivity for violence and extreme secrecy.. Although diametrically opposed in belief, the two groups were actually very siminlar in practice. Both adhered to a severe from of reliqious asceticism, both had a hierarchial command structure, both believed that death in battle led to rewards in the afterlife. In 1176 AD the Assasins leader Sinan sent a number of "fidais" (trained Shiite assasins members) to kill the Great Saldin who was only wounded for he was wearing armor under his robes. The reemergence of Shiite extremism in Iran and Lebanon is just as the old Assassins did for seeks to instill fear and uncertainty in thier enemies. They make frequent use of suicide attacks and believe that thier actions would earn them rewards in the afterlife. They also employed sleeper agents who would penetrate enemy groupd and wait for months or even years before striking their target. In addition they are not afraid to shed the blood of fellow Muslims in order to advance thier cause.
54. To Gary Min (#43)
Jørn ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (08.31.06)
Why do you think he should not go now? If Nasrallah goes now to heaven, he will have 72 virgins surrounding him… despite there is already quite a lot of competition up there. If he goes to heaven at 60 he might not have even one single virgin free! They will all be occupied at that time by Hizbollah’s shaheeds. So, in conclusion, the sooner the better for Nasrallah himself… Jørn from Copenhagen, Denmark
55. # 19: "what a joke! Israel kicked your ass"
Nicolaus ,   San Francisco, USA   (08.31.06)
You are so right. And the Israel Chief of Staff so wrong. Israel gave the lebanese so much hiding its own bottom began to bleed. No strategist would agree with you. The fact of the matter is that Israel went to this war like the previous 5 with the Arabs (starting with the 1973 War) simply unprepared. The types of battles for which tyhe israeli army is trained are simply NOT those it encounters, hence it can probably no longer claim victories. It can level cities (bad for reputation) kill civilians (bad for reputation) try to drop troops by helicopter (nad for the isolated troops). There is only ONE way out. Peace, and less bullshit. There is no better opportunity for peace than now. Grab it or prepare for the next defeat, which may well be harder.

57. Adam #38, Syria did indeed attack Israel in 1967
Jake   (08.31.06)
In 1967, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike against Egypt alone, and relayed requests via the UN for all other Arab countries to stay out of the war. Shortly thereafter, Israel was struck by air raids from the combined air forces of Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, to which Israel responded by bombing the air bases in those countries. Syrian air force bombed targests in the Galilee and attempted to bomb the Haifa oil refineries. Furthermore, Syrian ground forces, including armored columns, crossed the border into the Upper Galilee and attacked the Israeli localities of Tel Dan, Sha'ar Yashuv, and Ashmora. These were repelled by local paramilitaries, and a number of Syrian tanks fell into the Jordan River. Failing this, the Syrians decided to launch a sustained artillery barrage for the duration of the war. Once Israeli armored equipment became available from other fronts, Moshe Dayan decided to give the order to overrun the Golan Heights on June 9, 1967, the 5th day of the war.
