U.S. prison authorities had called a special meeting with Pollard, asking him about the alleged tortures and about his connections to media outlets, she said.

Darshan-Leitner recently petitioned the High Court of Justice to speed up consideration of his status as a Prisoner of Zion.

Ynetnews learned the prison had received dozens of telephone calls from various Americans and Israeli officials regarding Pollard’s prison conditions.

Prisoner of Zion now

Pollard, who is serving a life sentence without parole, has argued that he deserves Prisoner of Zion status due to the inhuman treatment he has received in the American prison system.

Regarding the clarification meeting to which Pollard was invited, Darshan-Leitner said, “Sadly, I am prevented from getting documentation of what was said at the meeting.”

Sources close to Pollard said that the spy’s condition is serious and the talk was harsh in nature.
