Two Palestinians attack security guard at entrance to West Bank settlement; Police investigating whether attack criminally motivated or terror related

A security guard was lightly injured Tuesday at the entrance to the Barkan settlement in the West Bank after two Palestinians attacked him and stole his weapon.

A Magen David Adom ambulance team treated the victim after he was lightly injured in the jaw. He was then transferred to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva for further medical treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

An initial investigation reveals two Palestinians arrived at the scene, called over the security guard, and subsequently stole his weapon. Police estimate they used the guard's rifle to shoot him.

IDF forces were deployed to the scene and searched the area. The army is investigating whether the incident was criminally motivated or terror related.
