3 troops suspected of burglary
Ganim settlers claim troops securing settlement broke into homes, stole property By Efrat Weiss WEST BANK - Three IDF soldiers who were securing the West Bank settlement of Ganim are suspected of breaking into settler homes and stealing their possessions. Military Police are expected to launch an investigation into the matter on Sunday. Ganim is one of the West Bank settlements slated for evacuation in the framework of the schedule disengagement. Residents claim they had witnessed the soldiers breaking into homes and stealing goods; the soldiers were transferred from the settlement. Several Ganim families have already evacuated the settlement following negotiations with the disengagement Authority, but some of their possessions were left behind. IDF sources said the suspected soldiers do not belong to the force that secures the settlement on a regular basis, adding that the soldiers have denied the allegations made against them. However, should the complaints prove to be true, the soldiers would be punished to the full extent of the law, they said. Last week Ynet reported that police are investigating a series of alleged break-ins into settler homes in Kadim, located near Ganim.
