Police in Jerusalem detained a right-wing activist who attempted to block a road near Jerusalem along with other pullout objectors.

Earlier, rightists burned tires near the Shoresh junction on Highway 1, connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Heavy traffic jams were reported and police forces were called to the scene.

Fake bomb found near Tel Aviv

The "National Home" group, which threatened last week to block roads across the country, is attempting to take advantage of the fact about 13,000 police officers were sent south to deal with the anti-pullout rally and planned march to Gaza. It has called protesters to block roads, urging members of the public to “join our brothers heading south to Gush Katif.”

“We call on the youth to go south to Gush Katif and to block roads,” said the group.

“With God’s help, the threats, psychological pressure, and hundred-meters’ long line of motorists honking behind you (will lead to) police officers collapsing and realizing there is no cop who will stop the people of Israel!” said a statement by the movement.

Meanwhile, a fake bomb planted by pullout objectors was found in the town of Ramle, near Tel Aviv. Police sappers called in to examine the suspicious bag found an orange ribbon and a note reading: "Disengagement will blow up in your faces."
