Minor earthquake hits eastern Israel
Jordan Rift Valley quake measures 3.7 on Richter Scale, no injuries or damages reported Ynetnews A minor earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter Sacle hit the Jordan Rift Valley in eastern Israel Wednesday. No injuries or damage were reported in the quake, which occurred around 11:35 a.m. The quake’s epicenter was 45 kilometers (close to 30 miles) north of the Dead Sea. Rami Hostetter, head of the seismological department at the Geophysical Institute, told Ynet the last quake to hit Israel occurred in February 2004, when a 5.2 earthquake hit the country. “Many people felt it that time,” he said. “since then, there were more minor earthquakes in the country that were partly felt.”
