Gaza's Karni border terminal, used for the transportation of goods, opened Wednesday following a three hour delay - the second time this week a delay was reported.

The northern Gaza terminal was only opened after a special Border Guard unit belonging to the Airport Authority was deployed to the area to approve the move.

For the second time this week a long line of trucks heading from Israel to the Gaza Strip and back had to wait for hours until the tedious process was completed.

On Sunday, the opening of the terminal was delayed by two hours and yet again Wednesday morning it was delayed by three hours.

The delay followed an IDF Southern Command decision to open the terminal, after it had previously decided to keep the crossing closed. The Border Guard unit then had to be called in to inspect the area and approve the opening.

IDF officials told Ynet they will try to prevent such holdups, he said.
