Arab group claims murder of Israeli
An Arab organization calling itself The "Galilee Freedom Brigades" says was behind murder of Katie David, a 27 year-old woman who's body was found yesterday in Netanya Roee Nahmias An Arab organization calling itself The "Galilee Freedom Brigades" said Monday it was behind the murder of Katie David, a 27-year-old woman who's body was found yesterday in Netanya. The group claimed responsibility for the murder in a phone call to the Palestinian News Agency.
The group claimed the murder was committed to avenge the killing of four Israeli Arabs in Shfaram in August by Jewish terrorist, Eden Natan Zada, and vowed to commit more killings in the future.
Police have dismissed the claim, saying "it was nonsense." An investigation has been launched to determine if criminal or terrorist motives are behind the attack.
The body of David, a security guard in Netanya shopping mall, was found Sunday afternoon by a passer-by in a bush ear a petrol station located at Netanya’s western entrance.
David was brutally murdered in a grove near the Hadera forest soon after she had finished a shift at the shopping mall around 11 pm on Sunday.
Initial police findings indicate that David had apparently fought the attacker, or attackers, on a footpath that cuts through the bush. Her body was found 30 meters away from the footpath under eucalyptus trees.
“We are certainly dealing with murder and we are investigating if one of her friends were involved,” said Brigadier General David Siso, stressing that the police are probing all possible scenarios.
