Marzel: Don't let Peretz sleep
Extreme right-wing activist sends letter to residents of southern town advising them to not let their neighbor, Defense Minister Amir Peretz, sleep until rocket fire from Gaza Strip stops Efrat Weiss In a letter addressed to Sderot residents on Tuesday, extreme right-wing activist Baruch Marzel advised them on how best to stop Qassam fire from the Gaza Strip. Marzel told residents of the town, which suffers direct Qassam hits on a daily basis, to prevent Defense Minister Amir Peretz from sleeping by holding loud demonstrations outside his house in the Negev town until the Israel Defense Forces halts the attacks.
"Time has come to stop being quiet. Sderot residents are invited to come to Amir Peretz' house and not allow him to sleep so long as Sderot residents are unable to live in peace," the letter read. Southern communities suffered a barrage of Qassam rockets on Wednesday, a day after the IDF said it will step up ground operations by commando units in the northern Gaza Strip.
"Time has come to tell Amir Peretz what we think of him. As someone who lived in Sderot for months, I wish to encourage and support you at a time when a terror wave is engulfing the town," Marzel's letter said.
'Time has come for Peretz to stop living normal life'
"As a community living on the frontline and suffering from the restraint and flattery of the State of Israel, you know better than all of us that if the Israeli government would act more offensively and determinately by destroying and eliminating every village that fires Qassams, calm will return to our streets," the letter added. Marzel continued: "If the children in Sderot cannot live normal lives and are scared to leave home, time has come for Amir Peretz to be unable to live a normal life."
The rockets hit two houses in the city. A number of people were treated for shock and anxiety.
