Qassam hits Sderot school
After relatively quiet weekend, Red Dawn alert systems again heard in southern town of Sderot, as Qassam rocket hits school, smashes windows in place. No injuries reported in strike, but electric poll sustains damage, power supply disrupted in area Shmulik Hadad After a relatively quiet weekend, the residents of Sderot awoke Sunday morning to the sound of the Red Dawn alert system, followed by a loud explosion caused by yet another Qassam rocket that was fired at the town. The rocket hit a school in town and damaged an electric pole, consequently disrupting power supply to several houses in the area. A few windows were smashed in the school buildings, but fortunately no injuries were reported, as the place was vacant at the time of the attack. Sunday morning's strike signals an end to the short period of calm the southern residents have been enjoying in recent days, obtained – according to the defense minister – by direct threats to the Hamas' heads. The Islamic Jihad, however, does not consider itself obligated to any ceasefire, and the organization continues launching rockets at Israel.
