Jordan's adopts new mosque preaching law that blocks terrorists from pulpits

Jordan's parliament approved Sunday a law that gives the state the authority to approve mosque

preachers, a setback for terrorists seeking to enter the country's pulpits.

Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit pledged following last November's triple hotel blasts in Amman to tighten Islamic teachings at mosques to prevent extremist ideology from taking root. The hotel bombings, which killed 60 people, were claimed by al-Qaeda in Iraq. (AP)
