The al-Quds Brigades, Islamic Jihad’s armed wing, claimed responsibility for the attack.

“It’s a disgrace to the government that none of its ministers wake up and continue to allow us to keep getting attacked,” said 18-year-old Sderot resident Yehiel Hajbi, who made his way Sunday to the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem to take part in a demonstration against the Qassam fire on the western Negev town.

“It is a disgrace that the Knesset members and cabinet ministers do not visit Sderot to witness the residents’ suffering for themselves; the situation is intolerable,” he said.

“The government must take responsibility for the residents’ security; it is incomprehensible that the government we elected does not protect us.”
