Restaurant employee suspected of concealing drugs in pita bread
Givat Shmuel resident suspected of selling hashish, ecstasy tablets in Ra'anana restaurant Raanan Ben-Zur A 47-year-old Givat Shmuel resident was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly dealing drugs out of a restaurant he was employed at in Ra'anana.
According to suspicions, the man’s customers, including teenagers, would call him in advance and order hashish or ecstasy tablets. The suspect would then conceal the drugs in a pita and make the transaction at the restaurant. A police detective involved in the case said that in order to collect sufficient evidence against the suspect, an undercover officer phoned the suspect and ordered 100 grams of hashish and 12 ecstasy pills. The "customer" then arrived at the restaurant and received the drugs wrapped in a pita. Police proceeded to detain the suspect, but no narcotics were found in his home or at the restaurant. Police officials said the restaurant’s owners were not aware of the drug deals that took place on the premises.
