President Peres meets with Egyptian, Jordanian foreign ministers




President Shimon Peres has begun his meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdel Ilah Khatib. At the start of the meeting, Peres said that "The winds blowing in the region now are winds of peace.

 

Aboul Gheit congratulated Peres on his election and said, "We were invited as representatives of the Arab League in order to advance the Arab peace initiative. This is a time of opportunity." (Ronny Sofer)
