WASHINGTON - After a long week of high-profile talks with heads of state and their diplomatic entourages, Foreign Affairs Minister Tzipi Livni finally saw a different side of New York City.

The FM attended an event organized by former US President Bill Clinton and sponsored by MTV at Harlem's historic Apollo Theater to celebrate the success of a summit hosted by the Clinton Global Initiative to discuss some of the world's most pressing social issues.

The event was broadcast live by MTV and boasted performances by some of the entertainment industry's leading talents, including Bono, Wyclef, Shakira, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and rock legends Jerry Lee Lewis and Solomon Burke.

Clinton thanked three special guests: Harry Belafonte, Colombia's former foreign affairs minister and Livni.

Livni, the only active politician invited, attended the event with her husband. The two sat with Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Gillerman, Kate Hudson and Jewel.

Prior to the event Clinton hosted a cocktail party for some 30 guests, during the party Livni spoke with Bono and expressed her appreciation for his relief efforts in Africa.

Bono told Livni he is also working on a project involving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and mentioned that U2 guitarist The Edge has relatives in Jerusalem. Livni invited the singer for a formal visit to Israel and the two exchanged phone numbers.
