Five Qassam rocket were fired from the Gaza Strip Wednesday afternoon, including one that hit a house in Sderot. Another rocket landed in the center.

Four people sustained injuries in the latest attack, including a 17-year-old girl who suffered shrapnel wounds to her arm and a boy who was hurt while attempting to take cover. Meanwhile, a 60-year-old man arrived at hospital after reporting chest pains in the wake of the attack.

Immediately after the explosions were heard, police forces were dispatched to the area in order to pinpoint the landing sites.

Earlier Wednesday, a few hours before US President George W. Bush landed in Israel, terrorists fired nine Qassam rockets and several mortar shells from northern Gaza.

The Salah al-Din Brigades of the Popular Resistance Committees claimed responsibility for both rocket barrages. The group's spokesman, Abu Mujihad, told Ynet: "The firing was undertaken in the framework of continued messages to US President Bush that no plan would be able to defeat Palestinian resistance. The Palestinians will not cave in to this joint scheme with Israel to defeat the resistance."

"The firing of rockets is a response to Israel's crimes, but also a signal to Bush that the resistance will only be boosting the fire," he said.
