The Egyptian government newspaper Al-Gomhuria reported Monday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told several Arab leaders he intended to suspend the negotiations with Israel and disperse the Palestinian negotiating team headed by Ahmed Qureia.

The move is reportedly a response to Israel's latest actions in Gaza. Abbas was quoted as saying that "negotiating with the Israelis while their forces are killing Palestinians is unreasonable." (Roee Nahmias)
