Gaza rocket fire resumed
Five rockets fired at Sderot Thursday evening; Islamic Jihad claims responsibility for first barrage in two days Shmulik Hadad Rocket fire from Gaza Strip resumed: After roughly 45 hours of relative quiet in the western Negav region, Palestinian terrorists fired five Qassam rockets at the southern town of Sderot Thursday evening. One rocket landed within the town while the others landed in open areas outside the city. No injuries or damage were reported in the latest barrage. At around 5:40 pm, the "Red Color" alert system warned of incoming rockets. A short time later, explosions could be heard in town. The Islamic Jihad's military wing, the al-Quds Brigades, claimed responsibility for the rocket attack. Palestinian terrorists have not fired at Israel since 8 pm on Tuesday. That day, about 20 Qassam rockets were fired at Sderot and Gaza-region communities.
The incident took place while troops were operating in the northern Gaza Strip. No injuries were reported among the soldiers. Ali Waked contributed to the report
