Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama attended an event held by Israel's embassy in Washington in honor of the country's 60th anniversary.

During the event, which was also attended by Vice President Dick Cheney, the Illinois senator said he was committed to Israel's security. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
