Ben-Gurion Airport shuts down for Yom Kippur
Aerial traffic to be halted at 1 pm Wednesday, resumed at 9:30 pm Thursday following Day of Atonement

Civilian aerial traffic in Israel will cease at 1 pm Wednesday ahead of the Yom Kippur holiday. Ben-Gurion Airport will reopen on Thursday evening at 9:30 for arrivals, while departures will begin at 10:30 pm.
The Nitzana, Allenby and Jordan River cargo terminals were open on Yom Kippur Eve until 11 am. The Allenby passenger terminal closed at 11 am, and the Jordan River, Arava and Taba terminals were scheduled to be left open until 12 am. The Taba border crossing is expected to resume its activity at 9 pm Thursday.

Israel's internal airports will resume their activities at 9 pm Thursday.
Some 28,000 passengers were expected to pass through Israel's international airport Wednesday morning on 170 flights, 85 of them departing and 84 arriving. On Thursday evening, after the aerial traffic will be resumed, 25 planes are expected to land at Ben-Gurion Airport, while 17 will take off.
The last plane leaving the airport on Yom Kippur Eve will be a Lufthansa flight scheduled to take off at 12:50 pm. The first international flight to arrive after Yom Kippur will be an FB flight from Bulgaria at 9:30 pm, and the first flight to leave will be a Royal Jordanian flight at 10:30 pm.
