Lebanese soldiers clashed with gunmen in a northern port city on Friday, killing one and wounding others, the army said.

The latest violence to hit the city of Tripoli began when three gunmen in a car sped through a military checkpoint in the Bab el-Tabaneh neighborhood, an army statement said. (AP)
