Cabinet approves release of 250 Palestinian prisoners

The cabinet has approved the release of 250 Palestinian security prisoners as a goodwill gesture to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ahead of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha that will take place on December 8.

The decision was made despite the objection of a number of ministers, including Eli Yishai, Shaul Mofaz and Jacob Edery. (Roni Sofer)
