Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Tuesday that the U.S. "is and will continue to be Israel's most important ally in maintaining its security and security superiority in the region ."
His statements came following a speech by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where he said that "Israel will do everything in its power to counter the Iranian nuclear program, even at the expense of the country's vital relationship with the United States."
"The Biden administration is a true friend of Israel," he added. "Israel has and will have no better partner than the United States. Even if there are disagreements, they will be solved behind closed doors and not with defiant rhetoric that could harm Israel's security."
Gantz is set to travel to Washington in the coming days to meet with American security officials.
