Speaking at the UN Security Council, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said that Israel must be punished for its settlements in the West Bank.
"Israel does not want to end the occupation, but preserve it," he said.
"It is not enough to declare the settlements illegal, punishment must follow. We [the Palestinians] could have answered Israeli violence with violence of our own, but we choose not too."
