3 At-Tur residents suspected of smashing dozens of headstones at Mt. Olives Cemetery

Three residents of Jerusalem's At-Tur neighborhood, aged 22, 15 and 12, were arrested on Monday on suspicion of smashing and breaking headstones at the Mount of Olives cemetery in east Jerusalem earlier this month. The two minors admitted to smashing dozens of headstones three weeks ago, linked more suspects to the incident and told of similar events that happened in the past. The third suspect denied his involvement in the incident despite the collected evidence linking him to the actions.

The 12-year-old, who was taken for questioning accompanied by his parents, was released under restrictive conditions and transferred to the care of social services. The two other suspects will be taken for a remand hearing at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court.
