The Givati Reconnaissance unit, known as Sayeret Givati in Hebrew, is attached to the Israel Defense Force's Givati brigade. The unit's insignia consists of a sword and a fox flanked by wings.
The unit was formed in 1983 and is considered to be one of the IDF's most active operational units. Givati fighters undergo a rigorous training program, which includes counter-terrorism and parachuting courses.
The unit has played a key role in combating Palestinian terrorists in recent years, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
