Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 20)
Sagittarius is connected to freedom, justice and motifs of travel and adventure
Sagittarius is connected to aspects of freedom, justice and motifs of travel and adventure, but while maintaining autonomy. It also has links to academia, sport, nature, animals (especially horses), and law. Sagittarians tend to advise others. They have excellent intuition as well as an arrogance and sense of aristocracy about them. They show candor and tend to display their emotions.
Ideological space and physical space meet in Sagittarius - the sign of the centaur that is half horse and half man. These two parts express the physical-creative side of the bow and arrow. The shooting for long distances is connected not only to the geographic understanding of the sign, but also to the search for life’s philosophical and spiritual meaning, and mainly to asking questions.
Such characteristics are evident in the statements of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who urged his countrymen to fight the Nazis and defeat them at all costs. Another Sagittarius, Frank Sinatra, became forever connected to Las Vegas, and sang, “I did it my way.”
Sagittarians have a problem with the religious establishment; while theological in nature, they are not orthodox. This may help explain former left-wing Knesset Member Shulamit Aloni’s fight to separate religion and state in Israel, or when Singer Sinead O’Connor tore up a photograph of Pope John Paul II during a live appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Career and work
Despite the natural inclination for open spaces, Sagittarians work in positions requiring precision, such as medicine, instruction and care giving. In addition, the influence of Taurus in the 6th house creates an attraction to work connected to agriculture and land, banks and money. There is a desire for consistency and stability in daily life, and even a tendency toward routine, which does not befit Sagittarian’s natural wandering character. Import-export, gambling, nature, hotels and tourism, management, publishing, media, ranching and professions related to treatment are linked to Sagittarius.
Money
The speculative side for which Sagittarius is known conflicts with Aries’ presence in the 2nd house of the astrological map, which suggests a cautious and serious attitude in money matters, rather than a tendency to squander. Cancer and Aries in the 8th and 2nd houses respectively show a financial connection to family and parents. Scorpio in the 12th house is likely to cause financial losses.
Deep emotions and sexuality
Despite the extroverted nature of Sagittarians, they have a certain shyness and a need for oral expression in sexuality. There is an unfulfilled yearning for sexuality that for some reason goes realized. Periods of sexual disappointment and absence can occur.
Sagittarians should be careful regarding the connection between health and sexuality. They may need to make sacrifices and care for a partner or be cared for themselves in regard to sex. They perceive sex as a completely spiritual experience that entails spiritual and physical therapy.
Social relations
There is a need for harmony and dialogue with many people. Sagittarians are the ones willing to make compromises with friends and often fill a role as arbitrators.
Love, marriage and relationships
Sudden loves are likely, with a possibility of meeting a partner on a flight, via the Internet or at a social occasion. Libra, which is essentially quantum in nature and occupies the 11th house, points to a discontinuous dimension to relationships and marriage. Partners will be tall, intelligent and communicative. Sagittarius has Gemini in the 7th house, which allows for dualistic situations in relationships, or second marriages. For Sagittarians, good verbal communication is a prerequisite for marriage.
Sagittarians quickly become bored from relationships and mainly want freedom. Partners must be friendly and sociable and keep out of the heavy emotional situation in which Sagittarius tends to fall. Aries in the 5th house suggests the possibility of falling in love with someone younger or is young at heart.
Sagittarians do not deny themselves needs, but rather seek to achieve them quickly, which is followed by boredom. Aries in the 9th house shows a need for free love based on a philosophy of a sharing a life with the partner. Love for someone in a foreign country or in school is also possible.
Children
Sagittarians’ children are energetic, athletic, self-centered, independent and even aggressive. Sagittarians tend to be proud of their children and expand their horizons by way of trips, travel and sport. Sagittarius receives energy and optimism from children, while both teaching them and learning from them.
Parents and family
Cancer’s position in the 8th house and Pisces’ location in the 4th house create deep emotional aspects for Sagittarius that can express itself even at a young age. At home there is a compulsive side from the mother, with likely disappointment from the father. The paternal figure is complex and problematic, and Sagittarius feels his father is a born loser.
There can be health problems or the loss of the connection to parents and family, and perhaps the creation of compulsive situations or the inability to separate from home and parents.
Siblings
Sagittarians’ brothers and sisters are talented and special, perhaps even showing some genius in their fields, but there are divisions and separations in the relationship. Siblings can be good friends. They can be attractive, creative with an aptitude for computers, aviation, hotels, law or communications, with fashion and design other possibilities. Siblings embody a dimension of inventiveness and the future.
Communication, abroad and studies
Sagittarius has an atypical manner of expression and communication. Possibility exists for excelling in learning, publishing (related to an academic study) or publishing abroad.
Legal matters
Legal troubles are connected to children and youth, as well as to money, possessions and land. Difficulties are also possible in regard to the automobile and transportation.
Health
Sagittarians should pay attention to the upper and lower back, thighs, hips, liver, neck, urinary tract, zinc levels and gynecological matters.
Dress and fashion
Modern and fashionable dress, and even a bit futuristic. Light, transparent, airy and sporty. Sagittarians’ grasp of fashion is beyond the period.
Attitude toward death
Pity, sadness and a lack of coping with death. Denial mechanisms operate in this area.
Attitude toward God and religion
Open and curious. Connected to materialism and matters of territory and land.
Attitude toward past and future
Past is difficult with denial, with sense of inferiority and introversion and possible humiliation and embarrassment. The future is open, dynamic, flowing and colorful – Sagittarians have two future directions
Perception of time
Because Pieces is in the 2nd house, Sagittarians identify time directly with money and possessions. With Virgo in the 10th house, Sagittarius searches also for accuracy
Concessions, sacrifice, confusion and illusions
Confusion, loss of identity, illusions, and self-sacrifice can occur in the deep psychological sense, and in connection to money or sex. Irrational yearning and longing are connected to these matters. Psychological problems can be linked to home and family (perhaps parents). Mechanisms of denial are directed to the past and history. The past connects Sagittarius to self-pity, internal sadness and eternal pain.
